As a Photojournalist I believe my pictures should do most of the talking. So I will not launch into a rant about my week at the G20 dodging batons and rubber bullets. I will however give a little perspective by sharing a conversation I had with a fellow photojournalist who had just returned from the protests in Egypt last year.
I asked what was the scariest situation he had been in while photographing, given he had just come back from the Africa and the Middle East I figured he was about to give a very different answer. He said “That is easy. The G20 in Toronto.”
I was surprised. “Really, why?’ I asked.
He looked me straight in the eye and said “because it happened here.”
